Gentlemen, we have little more than a fortnight to prepare for the coming Slosh. I depart tomorrow for the islands to drink rum and abuse the local women. Can someone else on the Executive Council perhaps secure a permit for Sloshball?
I'm getting worried and I won't be able to do it before Monday. The buzz on facebook is going well (I know none of you are on facebook, so I tell you here) and I think this might be our biggest ever. I'll front the money for two kegs when the time comes, but someone else needs to reserve us a good field quick! Volunteers?
Oh, Paul Davis says he's coming and it didn't seem like a joke.
Paul "P Diddy" Davis will be there for sure. For the record he is in St. Louis July 14h-July 21st. I leave for LA on July 22 so I to will make my Sloshball 17 inning giving up 0 runs pitching return. I'm working on a new pitch called the "Patty Bean Ball 2 Da Dome" or PBB2DD for short.
ReplyDeleteHerman not sure if you leg is still broke but if so you can be the official firework lighter for the homeruns and post game festivities.
Zig, does this mean you are volunteering to get the permit?
ReplyDeleteI will not be able to get a permit before Monday. I do suggest that we secure a real baseball diamond with plenty of room in the outfield for me to lay into a Ziegfried ephus pitch, or ZEP for short.
ReplyDeleteLyons, I am sure that you will be able to get a permit somewhere in Tower Grove on Monday. Agains, lets not get stuck on the same field as last year.
Go Baseball!
Somebody just do it. It can be done over the phone: 314-771-4484. They mail the permit.
ReplyDeleteIt costs $10 for every 90 minutes, but if we reserve it from 1-4:30 ($30) no body will come before or after us.
I would do it myself, but I'm going to the Keys tomorrow and I know that if I put this on my card I'll end up at a strip club Sunday morning wishing I had just $30 left in my account. Somebody sack up.
Damn, I'm pissed I'm going to be in Maine and missing this.
ReplyDeleteSorry Lyons, I will not be getting any permits but I WILL be bringing the fireworks. So when Bean gets the field permit remember to get the firework one as well.
ReplyDeleteHerman how many punk's will you be needing to light the fireworks?
sorry gentleman, but i will not be partaking in the mid-summer classic this go round. ankle will still be broken and i have a family function to attend with my rural alcoholic relatives. let the "hermann you pussy" posts begin.......
ReplyDeletelyons, good to see you embracing the strip club. Make me proud.
Damn my ERA might go up... Herm was always an easy out. Not Ankiel easy but more like 3KRay easy. See you at Da Zone Week #1 Herman
ReplyDeleteYou people make me sick. Paddy says "Agains, lets not get stuck on the same field as last year," but won't get the fucking permit? Ben can't do it.
ReplyDeleteEveryone please welcome our newest Executive Coucil Member, Kayla Moore. The rest of you have been switched to Emeritus status. You have all been at this longer than I, so I can't toss you bums out, but I can strip you of all but your most perfuntory and ceremonial powers.
ReplyDeleteI can't make it, but I hope you enjoy yourselves. I've got a nice big lead in the UFL and Serena is looking good as ever, so can't complain.
ReplyDeleteBonus trivia tidbit from tonight: "Rasmus is the first Cardinals rookie to hit a game-winning homer since Andy Van Slyke connected off the Astros' Bill Dawley in the 10th inning on Aug. 18, 1983."
2 Finals in a row vs. the Bo-Sac I want revenge for that Redwings mishap
ReplyDeleteAnd Wrong Williams sister their Matt you mean Venus looks as good as ever 6-1, 6-0 vs. #1 seed. Serena is very lucky to be in the finals. The #4 seed to her to the limit. Which brings me to my next part
10 UFL points says Venus beats Serena.
I'm pretty sure that since Serena both won the last major and the last match between the two, they'll let Venus win this one.
ReplyDeletehey zig, i'll pass on that bet - like dan i don't trust the sisters to really compete, especially since they play later in the doubles final - but thanks for the offer, it is nice to see that you are still trying to compete in this league.
