Shinners Shows Heart

Dubai is down to Venus v. Serena in one semi and a couple unseeded players in the other. Safe bet that the V v. S. winner will take the whole thing.

Despite the fact that Matt has continued to collect tennis points, Shinners has managed to stay in first place by ONE point by have the Cavs, Cardinals and Tigers all win on the same day.

UEFA is almost upon us! this Tuesday, the 24th, and Wednesday, the 25th 1:45 p.m. CST teams get back on the pitch. Key match-ups: Sporting Lisbon (Da Zone) v. Bayern Munich (Team A) and Arsenal (Ben) v. Roma (Bussman).

I could maybe be talked into going to Barristers to watch Tuesday and/or Wednesday's action.

Patty living on the edge

Standings

Patty has a scant 2 point lead over Bosac. Lots of action tonight.

Show mw the points

NO Hornets had a big win over s solid Thunder team last night I should have 90 pts not 88.  Also when did the scoring in this league start I want to recheck my points.  There might be some fuzzy Math involved.

Ivanovic Hottest Player remaining

I like the symmetry this image creates with Mauresmo's Estrogen fail below. But don't get too cocky Schnuck...Sharapova can't stay away for every. Safina and Kuznetsova lost in the second round. Zvonerova, Jenkovic, Dementieva (maybe), V. Williams, S. Williams and the lovely Ana remain. I'm not sure about Dementieva because she won her second round match, but isn't in the third round bracket yet making me think that she perhaps withdrew after advancing.

A Cnance to Catch B&G

Can anybody make out her/his package?

Current Standings
1. B&G (148)
2. Born Again (130)
3. Ben Bounce (113)
4. Conatus (109)
5. Pineapple (99)
6. Team A (87)
8. Da Zone Lives (83)
9. Otis (78)
10. Schnuck (77)

First round points are now included for the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships. Don't be confused by Mauresmo's manish good looks, the women's tourney is in fact under way and the men play a separate, similarly named tourney, next week. B&G's Kuznetsova just lost her second round match-up, so it is conceivable for either Matt or Ben to catch Patrick by the end of this tournament. Ivonivic is in a battle at the moment. If she falls E.H. Schnuck might have no way out of the cella before mid-march. Tactical mistakes by 2 Cats and Team A as Mauresmo and Petrova apparently didn't play Dubai. Mauresmo was scheduled to play, however, she ended up winning a tourney in Paris on Sunday so she didn't have time to get to Dubai.

Actually

The first round of Dubai is only half over. If you care to watch (and can find it on TV) it is on right now. Everyone has made the second round except Mauresmo, who still has to play, and Petrova, who apparently isn't in the tournament, but Herman has stayed loyal anyway.

Regardless, I just added Saturday's points. Tennis will not be added until the first round is completely over. For those who still doubt that the Barclays Dubai Open is occurring right now, click here. In an effort to help wipe the Mauresmo picture of the day from your mind. Here is a loving montage devoted to Ana Ivonivic. Enjoy.
