The UFL season is drawing near. We have six members, plus Dan will be joining when he gets back in town next week. If you haven't already, be sure to accept the invitation I emailed you so you can post on this site. Ideally all comments will relate to a specific post so I can keep everything organized. Every team is going to be allowed 2 transactions a week, so organization is going to be very important.
Bussman has lobbied for the inclusion of Cycling, Brian seems down and I am inclined to agree. Bussman: Post a list of the top 20 cyclists and where we can look for independant pre-draft research.
Campbell, I think one international soccer league is enough.
If the draft were held today, these are the sports we would be using:
1 CBB
1 NHL
1 UEFA
1 Whatever cycling is called
1 AL
1 NL
1 NBA
1 Women's Tennis
1 PGA
1 Wild Card (An extra of any of those above)
My preference, like Campbell, would be to have a full year league. However, because most people are new to this I think it is better to shorten the season. If some people just don't get into it we can silent Andy them out of here without wasting an entire year.
3 league spots are left. I think Bosac wants in. That leaves 2 we need to fill.
Suggestions on an entry fee amount to keep things interesting? $30, winner take all?
Every sport. All year. One league.

i'm still not convinced by any of your drunken, meandering reason.
ReplyDeleteyou are a twat, lyons
how can you call it such a high/filutin name and then not include the nfl or the full baseball season?
hey, why don't we include spring training as well?
(no but seriously, we should include the world baseball classic....)
i say it would be ridiculous to guage points on only the first half...
do it right and make it a full year, once a year event.
also what about men's tennis, golf?
how to point bicycling? the tour de france is the only thing that anyone regular cares about, whereas golf and tennis have four pointable majors
and don't tell me how bussmann says the giro d/italia is in fact actually really exciting
this is bussmann, fuck you campbell.
ReplyDeletethe starters list for the giro isnt out yet, but it will be shortly, check out http://www.cyclingnews.com/road/2009/giro09/
for more info on details, we can also use the tour of california and a couple of spring classics, up to you guys.
fuck you campbell.
Easy there Campbell. The spread sheets for scoring are set up for 10 scoring units. That's why we can't have absolutely everything. Dan also suggested the World baseball classic and I think I can work it in without dropping anything else (I'll just have to add the points by hand). Bussman wants cycling and I think it is fair to let it in and see how it goes. Men's tennis is out because women's tennis is more fun to watch, and, again, I am limiting us to 10 scoring units. However, the plan is to use more events beyond just majors for tennis and golf. for Golf there should be a scoring event almost every week.
ReplyDeleteSo, calm down heater, and get a little perspective here. Quit whining like a little bitch and get with the program.
I'm down with Cycling, what about bowling or pool?
