Standings
Huge tennis match coming up between Serena Williams (Matt) and Kuznetsen (Patrick). The winner of this one has to be a big favorite to win the whole tournament. Just for a little perspective, assuming one of the four remaining UFL tennis players wins the Australian Open here are the UFL scores those teams would finish the month with, even if they lose EVERYTHING else:
B&G (Kuznetsen) = 110
Born Again (Williams) = 94
Otis (Dementieva) = 92
Pineapple (Safina) = 100
So, say a little prayer for Zonereva, as she is the last seeded player in the tournament not owned in the UFL.
In other news, I continue to be a perfect 18/18 in basketball games and both my college teams are in the top ten AND the celtics are looking to pick up a little bench candy before a repeat run...so even though my lithe, well-proportioned, non-man-looking tennis bunny sat out a major with a boo-boo, I'm feeling confident.
In a look ahead to the fall (sort of) I've been enthralled by ESPN's "Prestige Ratings" for college football programs. I was a little suspect of the methodology, but then I saw that Brian's beloved Iowa St. Cyclones are ranked 114/119. Seriously, there is nothing in Brian's Mom's house that isn't Iowa St. themed...they even unironicly shit into a toilet festooned with a cyclones lid AND seat. Man, though, Iowa St. just sucks at everything.
At the rumble on Sunday night there were some questions about when golf gets going. The first event is the Buik Open on Feb. 15. Here is my original post with full schedules for Golf and Women's Tennis. Next up for the "women" is the Dubai Tennis Championship Feb. 16.
Every sport. All year. One league.
