Question: are we getting a point for overtime losses in hockey? The rules say ties get a point, but by current rules the only thing resembling a tie are overtime and shootout losses.
Yeah, I was waiting for this to come up. I'm not a big hockey fan, as you all know, and I set up the rules for ties even though they apparently don't do that anymore. In fact, I didn't know about getting one point for that third set of numbers until right now. I should probably give something for those, but I am hesitant because then I need to pay attention to when a win or loss occurs.
It's pretty clear on the scoreboard which usually read 5-4 (OT) or 5-4(SO). It's a silly rule and you do enough work anyway, so I really don't care one war or the other.
