hey zig, just giving you heads up. april 24th showtime is doing a showbox show at the scottrade center. the main event is a st. louis kid named deandre lattimore fighting cory spinks. i'm not going to lie to you: if spinks has his way this will probably be a boring fight. however, i think lattimore can knock spinks out. he's a good boxer and he has good power with the straight left hand. oh yeah, and he's naturally bigger and stronger than zabadaba judah. for the undercard they're talking about a cruiserweight fight between wayne "big truck" brathwait and "uss" steve cunningham, which i think is a good fight. i like cunningham, but he was down three times against adamek and brathwait can kick like a mule, which makes things interesting. if they don't do that fight, then they will probably put undefeated junior welterweight prospect devon alexander (also a st.louis native) on the card. this kid is good. he's not a big puncher, but he's got some serious skills. hopefully if he's on the card they put him in a step up fight. i'd like to see him against a big puncher like a juan urango or a ricardo torres, although i'm not sure shobox has that kind of money in their budget.
