New Spreadsheet

In the first of three posts today, I'm just writing to let everyone know that while watching the Celtics and Magic last night, I streamlined the spreadsheet and formatted it slightly differently. All the missing fields are just hidden and I'll display them again when those sports start back up. You can access the new one here, the old one will no longer be updated. Lyons, I'll send you an email to give you access.

  1. Wow. Looks good. I like the standings are in the correct order. Is that automatic now, or do you have to move them manually. Don't forget to shoot me that access email.

  2. Quick question. Why do my Brewers have negative points below? Just wasn't sure if that meant anthing or if it was some scoring rule I wasn't aware of?

  3. Glad you like it Lyons. I'm working on the standings to be automatic. I've figured out how to list people's places automatically, but there is a way to get it to sort. When I have a chance, I'll listen to a weird German voice give me a tutorial on it.

Ben, the Brewers have a negative value just to make it easier for me to keep score. I've been keeping track of baseball by the standings, which is far easier than entering everything every day. However, since you picked up the Brewers I can't do that. The -15 simply tells me that when you picked them up, they had 15 wins. Your real point total about 10 points higher that it seems. Lyons is the only other guy to pick a baseball team up and his score reflects the same thing. When I get a chance, I'll work out a more elegant solution.

  4. Also.. my CFB Non Conference is wrong. How could you take away my East Carolina Pirates?.. ha.

  5. Date aquired seemed to to work fine as far as keeping straight what points did or did not belong to someone. What happens if I drop the padres? Seems like your solution would get even less elegant.

  6. No, I can easily add the Padres points to your point bank and all would work fine. But you're right, I forgot to add the date added line and I can use that to keep track of wins easily.
