UEFA clarification: There seems to be a lot of confusion about the nature of the champions league. Many of you (Herman) perhaps saw your teams win a game yesterday. That was in the FA Cup. Your teams will also be competing in the premiere league, the bundus leaga, and a shit load of other club leagues. The champions league takes the top 2 teams from each European club league and they play a season within the season. The games are played in spurts. Right now they are still in group play, but then the tournament will reach the knock out rounds, and a champion is crowned in May. The round of 16 begins on Feburary 24th.
