I dropped Oklahoma because they are who I thought they were and lost in the first round of the Big XII tourney. My bad luck that Kansas goes down as well, but I still feel I made at least the half right move.
Why byes aren't worth points:
Take a look at the conferences that have a bye. They have a bye because they let more teams in the tournment. I think if you look at points possible, it is all even (except when a Baylor makes a huge run in a big format which should be rewarded anyway.)
Bean and I discussed it last night and I am considering instituting a new means of collecting/losing points in the UFL: Gambling. We think you should be able to bet your UFL points. As a beta test of the idea we propose an NCAA bracket pool in which the entry fee is 10 UFL points. Winner take all. Losers drop 10 points. We think that open gambling with points would get everyone excited again and would ensure that no one is ever truly out of it as long as Patty is willing to bet with them.
Every sport. All year. One league.

I am all for the gambling idea, it might be the only way my UFL squad could ever be relevant. but lefty is in the pga hunt this week. sign me up.
ReplyDeleteNo Love in Da Club....."Bean and I discussed" Lyons I would like to think I helped come up with the gambling idea as well. And Herman speaking of betting when UNC plays Duke in the ACC finals all UFL bets are on.
ReplyDeleteThen I will parlay those points I win from you and put them agaist Patty on one of his stupid drunk bets. Looking to be in first place by May.
I am willing and able to gamble. Perhaps I will let Leslie fill out my bracket. She always kicks my ass in those pools.
ReplyDeleteGet you some Iona!
Obviously a great idea.
