Updates, Quick Soccer Preview

Updates are in.

Lyons's US team in the WBC is the third team into the 2nd round while my Korea has earned a number one seed there. So silly is the WBC system that Japan can literally skunk Korea a few days ago, but be stuck as the two seed after Korea wins a rematch 1-0. In college basketball, Brian's Northern Iowa becomes the first team to make the tournament while Ziggy's Davidson lost in its conference semis and is on the bubble.

And for tomorrow's soccer, here's a quick update on what I'm pretty sure teams need to advance:

2:45 PM:

Panathinaikos - Villareal - Both unowned, won't bother.

Juventus - Chelsea (Campbell) - Unowned by actual owners, won't bother.

Bayern Munich (Brian) - Sporting Lisbon (Ziggy) - Sporting Lisbon needs to win 5-0 to force a shootout or by 6 goals to advance outright. Good luck Zig.

Liverpool (Pat) - Real Madrid (Herman) - Real needs to win to advance. A 1-0 win would send the teams to a shootout, any other Real win is enough to win outright.

Wednesday 2:45

FC Porto - Atletico Madrid - Unowned, will not bother.

Barcelona (Matt) - Lyon - Barcelona needs to win or tie at 2-2 or higher to advance. 1-1 would send the game to a shootout, 0-0 and Lyon wins.

Manchester United (Lyons) - Inter Milan (Me) - Manchester United needs a win to advance. Any tie above 0-0 sends Inter Milan through. Another 0-0 game would lead to a shootout.

AS Roma (Busman) - Arsenal (Hawks) - Roma needs to win by 2 goals or win 1-0 to force a shootout. Otherwise Arsenal moves on.
